Positive Coaching Alliance

Coaches and parents have the largest influence on a child's sports exerience. Reserach shows that 70% of kids stop playing organized sports by the age of 13 because, "it's just not fun anymore." In contrast, studies correlate the pursuit of high level athletics, with young people excelling in school, staying fit, avoiding drugs and alcohol, and building self esteem.

For these reasons, HSF partners with Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA), in efforts towards building a Development Zone™ culture, where the goal is to develop Better Athletes, Better People:

  • The Double-Goal Coach®, who strives to win while also pursuing the more important goal of teaching life lessons through sports

  • The Second-Goal Parent®, who concentrates on life lessons, while letting coaches and athletes focus on competing

  • The Triple-Impact Competitor®, who strives to impact sport on three levels by improving oneself, teammates and the game as a whole.
